RICHMOND, RI (Sept. 5, 2023) – The Preserve Sporting Club & Residences is excited to announce the appointment of its new managing director, luxury lifestyle resort veteran, David Bodette. The Preserve is proud to welcome Bodette as he steps into this prominent position at New England’s premier sporting club and esteemed sanctuary. Bodette will help to lead The Preserves’ community of professionals in their mission to enrich the master-planned community for guests’ members and owners.
As managing director, Bodette will oversee daily operations of the 52 rooms + suites at Hilltop Lodge as well as the property’s portfolio of residences, with a focus on creating a true New England sporting and adventure experience. In this lead role, Bodette is supported by a family of 200 enthusiastic professionals, collaborating with community influencers, athletes and sportsmen as well as a partnership with celebrity chef, David Burke. Through this partnership, chef continues to elevate all food and beverage operations at The Preserve, including a village of food creations from Hobbit House dinners to elegant fine dining.
“I’m thrilled to now be a part of the team at The Preserve Sporting Club,” says Bodette. “Of course, I’m focused on continued growth and financial success, but there’s also a higher purpose at play with a desire to continue providing our guests and members with a storied experience unlike any other resort or sporting club in the nation.”
Bodette comes to The Preserve, following a legacy career managing some of the country’s most prestigious luxury and historic hotels — such as Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort and Spa, The Ritz-Carlton properties, The Queen Mary Hotel in Long Beach, Calif. and The Langham Hotel in Boston — to aid The Preserve in providing a first-class experience for its guests and members. As general manager of The ART for three years, Bodette led efforts to showcase the hotel’s art-curated accommodations that have inspired and awakened visitors as well as the Denver community. With Bodette at the helm, the hotel achieved the No. 1 spot on TripAdvisor within 120 days of opening and was named the No. 1 Art Hotel in the U.S. by CNN, the “Coolest New Urban Hotel in the U.S.” by Travel & Leisure, as well as one of the “Top Ten Best New Hotels” in the country by USA Today. Bodette’s more than 30 years of experience in hospitality also includes serving as director of food and beverage in several prominent hotels across the country, including the Fairfax at Embassy Row in Washington, D.C. and the Langham Hotel in Boston, as well as with The Ritz-Carlton Corporation and several of its prestigious properties. In addition, he has worked as director of operations at the Niebaum-Coppola Estate, Vineyard & Winery, and as the director of food and beverage for Auberge du Soleil Resort & Spa, both located in Napa Valley, Calif. Bodette received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minn. He and his wife, Mery plus their goldendoodle son, Bentley, are excited to join the Rhode Island community and add a new chapter to the success story of The Preserve Sporting Club & Residences.
