Frankfurt am Main, 17 October 2023 – Bienvenue à Genève: The new IntercityHotel in Geneva is urban and modern, a well-connected, vibrant hub for meeting, working, eating, and just experiencing. On the pulse of the city, always “on the move”: This is IntercityHotel. It is Deutsche Hospitality’s first hotel in French-speaking Switzerland.
With 270 rooms, a conference area with five meeting rooms as well as a restaurant and a bar, the IntercityHotel is a social hub and smart place of retreat at the same time. Switching off from everyday life is easy in the wellness and fitness area with sauna and steam bath. Flexibility and mobility take center stage: Travelers can reach the city center, the airport and Palexpo International Exhibition and Congress Center quickly and easily by bus, tram, and car.
As Josef Dolp, Chief Operating Officer and Guest Experience Officer at Deutsche Hospitality, puts it: “We are delighted to be opening IntercityHotel Geneva – cosmopolitan and locally rooted at the same time. It is our first hotel in French-speaking Switzerland, with more to follow soon. Switzerland is a key market and Geneva a top location for us to continue the growth of the IntercityHotel brand: It is dynamic and energetic.”
According to Arjun A. Fornerod, Managing Director at GoodNight Partners SA, the owner’s representative: “We are glad to welcome Deutsche Hospitality in Geneva and we are certain the IntercityHotel Geneva is offering the right product for both business travelers and leisure guests. It is fulfilling a missing positioning gap in the hotel capacity of the market. We believe that the values of the brand fit perfectly in this first-of-its-kind hospitality hub developed in the heart of Evolution+ Quartier de l’Étang, a vibrant new city within the city.”
Nadjet Bennaceur, General Manager of the IntercityHotel Geneva, adds: “Geneva is a lovely and very international city with a lofty quality of life. My team and I are looking forward to welcoming guests from all over the world and the surrounding vicinity to IntercityHotel Geneva.”
Quartier de l’Étang is a former industrial site that has been redeveloped in line with the principles of sustainability. Located in the immediate environs of the hotel are a shopping center, a host of restaurants, bars, and a gym.
IntercityHotel Geneva is operated by Deutsche Hospitality in the capacity of leaseholder. PG Promotors SA owns the property. The project has been managed by the Swiss project development company GoodNight Partners SA.
