NEW ORLEANS – Nov. 7, 2016 – The DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans, located at the base of Canal Street overlooking the Mississippi River, will undergo a $25 million renovation of its guest rooms, lobby and meeting space, offering guests and locals an entirely new look and feel. The new design will be unveiled in February 2017.
“We’re excited about our renovation and believe the rejuvenated look will make all of our guests do a double take,” said General Manager Scott Ward. “Our property is in such a perfect location, this updated feel is just the chocolate chip in the cookie of all we offer to our guests, no matter if they are in town for business or leisure.”
A full overhaul of the hotel’s 367 guest rooms is included in the renovations, offering each visitor a more comfortable, welcoming stay with views overlooking the Crescent City’s top downtown destinations and attractions. Each room will be completely redecorated, providing a quiet, comfortable escape from the busy streets of downtown New Orleans. Rooms will be equipped with mini-fridges as well as brand new 42-inch LED televisions, with suites boasting 50-inch LED televisions.
The 16,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting and event space, complete with breathtaking views of the Mississippi River, will also be revived during the renovation, giving guests a bird’s eye view of the city’s historic and romantic scenery.
Renovations will do more than just please the eyes. The DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans is committed to reducing its carbon footprint through this update. At the guest level, recyclable containers and A/C filers will be added to each room, which will also feature digital thermostats, new high-end water softeners and water-usage-reducing toilets. The hotel has also installed three high efficiency hot water heaters and an energy management system to control HVAC.
To top it all off, the property will be adding a Grab-and-Go Market fully stocked with snacks, beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages. This market will be open all hours of the day, ensuring guests can get what they want when they want it.
One thing that will not change is the award-winning customer service all DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans employees are proud to provide. Named one of New Orleans CityBusiness’ Best Places to Work, this hotel provides great experiences for employees, encouraging top-of-the-line customer service for all its guests.
