ORLANDO, Fla., July 20, 2016 — The DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport, located just minutes from the Orlando International Airport, is now under new management and ownership. Situated away from the bustle of Central Florida, yet conveniently located close enough to reach a comprehensive list of world class attractions within 20 minutes—including Walt Disney World®, Universal Studios, SeaWorld®, Gatorland, Florida Mall®, Discovery Cove and Downtown Orlando—it is the perfect destination for both business and leisure travelers.
In June of 2016, GF Management, a leading national hotel ownership and management company, announced that, through its affiliate, it had acquired the 353-room DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport, located two miles from Orlando International Airport. This acquisition is the third hotel in the Orlando market acquired by GF Management in recent years. The company has owned and managed the Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort and the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando/North Lake Mary since 2013. GF Management specializes in hotels, resorts, golf courses and other hospitality-related assets, and has pledged $8 million in renovations at the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport.
“We are very proud to add The DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport to our outstanding portfolio,” said Vineet Nayyar, Senior Vice President of Operations for GF Management. “We are confident the extensive renovation we have planned, along with the implementation of our proven management systems, will elevate this hotel to a leader in the market.”
The DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport is suitably located just minutes away from many shopping malls such as the Florida Mall, the Mall at Millenia and Premium Outlets; guests will also find the hotel’s location to Visit Disney Springs and Universal CityWalk convenient. Guests flying in or out of the Orlando International Airport can take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary shuttle, offering service to and from the airport and the neighboring community.
The property is also easily accessible to Lake Nona Medical City, a 650-acre health and life sciences park renowned for medical care, research and education. Additionally, The United States Tennis Association, which features a state-of-the-art facility with 102 courts and houses the USTA’s Community Tennis and Player Development divisions as well as the University of Central Florida's tennis teams, is located less than six miles away.
Furthermore, the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport is located just minutes from Oracle Corporate Office & Training Center, Siemens Training Center, Proctor & Gamble Corporate Offices, FAA, Cessna Aircraft Company, Simcom Training Center and Johnson Controls.
Enhancements at the 353-room DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Airport will take place over the next 18 months. The impactful renovation planned for the property will focus on improvements to the public space, guest rooms, and most importantly, the overall guest experience. “We take great pride in the hotels that we own and manage,” says Jeff Kolessar, Senior Vice President of Development and Acquisitions for GF Management. “We have enjoyed many acknowledgments of our capital improvements through renovation awards from various brands, and through direct guest feedback. The renovations for the DoubleTree Orlando Airport will certainly exceed expectations.”
