Aug. 07–EB Hotel Miami, the first U.S. property from Venezuela-based Eurobuilding Hotels Group, is now open just north of Miami International Airport.

Located at 4299 NW 36th St. in Miami Springs, the 133-room hotel opened its doors in early June and plans a grand opening in December. Formerly an office building, the six-floor hotel — online at www.ebhotelmiami.com — still has a Wells Fargo attached.

The interior of the building has been completely renovated to cater to business travelers with marble floors and plush carpet, modern, comfortable rooms and updated technology. The upscale property also boasts a pool, fitness center and free Wi-Fi. Still to come are a salon, spa, updated meeting space and other business amenities.

General manager Thomas Zarikian said the hotel’s slogan is “unexpected luxury at an unexpected location.”

“It’s giving that experience of being a high-end luxury hotel with the convenience of being right next to the airport,” he said.

Zarikian said average rates start at about $150 for now, but are expected to increase to at least $200 following the grand opening.

The family-owned Eurobuilding Hotels Group has properties in Venezuela and Argentina and plans to open a location in New York City in the next few years.

Zarikian, who is part of the family that owns the company, said the priority is getting the Miami location off the ground before opening a second U.S. location.

“Once we have this hotel up and running and we develop a brand, then we’ll go to NY,” he said. “Miami’s our gateway into the U.S.”
