SANTA MONICA, CALIF. (December 2, 2020) – Edward Thomas Collection of Hotels (ETC) has announced the appointment of Charlie Lopez-Quintana as General Manager of Shutters on the Beach. Drawing upon more than 20 years of global luxury hospitality experience, including three years at the hotel’s sister property, Hotel Casa del Mar, Lopez-Quintana will oversee all operations of the luxury oceanfront property.

Before joining the Edward Thomas Collection of hotels in 2017, Lopez-Quintana spent eight years at Terranea Resort, Rancho Palos Verdes, where he served as the Executive Director of Resort Operations and was responsible for overseeing both front-and-back of the house operations teams that include accommodations, spa, recreation, fitness, golf and retail. His career started with The Ritz-Carlton in Europe, the Middle East and Asia where he assisted in the opening of nine Ritz-Carlton properties. In 2001 Lopez-Quintana moved successfully opened The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay and supported the opening of seven additional Ritz-Carlton properties around the globe.

Lopez-Quintana is a native of Bilbao, Spain and holds a bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Sciences from Universitat de Barcelona. He is fluent in Spanish, English, French, Catalan and conversational in Italian.
