MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica, March 30, 2017 — Excellence Group Luxury Hotels and Resorts, the hospitality leaders who recently announced plans for an all-inclusive luxury resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, officially broke ground today in conjunction with Jamaica's highest esteemed leaders in tourism and government. Alongside The Honourable Prime Minister Andrew Holmes, the Ministry of Tourism, The Honourable Edmund Bartlett, The Honourable Daryl Vaz from the Office of the Prime Minister, and The Honourable Karl Samuda from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Excellence Group revealed additional details of the highly anticipated, $110 million dollar project during the Ground Breaking ceremony.
Set to open its doors to guests in the first half of 2018, Excellence Oyster Bay will be the first adults-only resort of its kind in Jamaica's tranquil Montego Bay, conveniently located in Oyster Bay, just 30 minutes from the international airport. Situated in an idyllic location in the Montego Bay area, the private peninsula sits surrounded by calm turquoise waters on one side and the glistening waters lagoon on the other. Historic Fallmounth town is also a short drive away.
The waterfront property will feature 325 suites, including 800 square feet junior suites and 2,000 square feet upper suites featuring expansive living spaces, panoramic ocean views, and direct beach access. Additionally, the property will house eight restaurants and seven bars onsite, all thoughtfully designed to cater to the whim of every individual guest. From upscale martini lounges to high-energy sports bars, guests will find a convenient array of options for every mood and taste, as well as an onsite tennis court and outdoor activities area, luxury spa, and archery range.
