Rosemont, Ill. – July 13, 2017 – First Hospitality Group, Inc. (FHG) and Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) have announced that FHG, a leading hotel management, acquisition and development company, will manage MPC’s Hancock Hotel in Findlay, Ohio. FHG and MPC also announced the hotel will include a Mancy’s Steakhouse restaurant — a restaurant brand iconic to Northwest Ohio since 1921.
“MPC has committed a great deal of resources into the expansion of its Findlay campus, including the Hancock Hotel, and we are honored to be a part of such an exciting project,” said FHG President and CEO Bob Habeeb. “Delivering an elevated level of hospitality, anticipating guest needs and creating elevated experiences that leave a positive impression are of topmost importance at the Hancock Hotel. And as a company strongly committed to providing memorable and engaging guest experiences, we are confident that the amenities of this hotel—particularly such an iconic restaurant brand—coupled with its prime location in downtown Findlay, are sure to make this property a prime asset to the community and visitors alike.”
The thoughtfully designed five-story Hancock Hotel will be a full-service boutique property featuring European architecture that will compliment Findlay’s historic South Main Street. With a total of 99 rooms, including 87 standard rooms, 11 suites, and a presidential suite featuring an impressive rooftop terrace, Hancock Hotel will feature an expansive “living-room” lobby space, fitness center, business center, 7,040 square feet of meeting space, and a ballroom that can hold 360 guests for larger events such as weddings and corporate functions. Construction, which began in 2016 and is focused on quality, exceptional customer service, and positive guest experience throughout, is slated for completion in early 2018. The hotel will be available for business and public use.
“Hancock Hotel will not only allow our guests to stay close to our facilities and provide a prime location for meetings and special events, but it will complement the city and local businesses, drawing people from all over to downtown Findlay,” said Rodney P. Nichols, MPC executive vice president, Human Resources, Health and Administrative Services. “We are pleased to welcome such a renowned restaurant concept to this project and are excited to partner with First Hospitality Group. We are confident that Mancy’s Steakhouse and FHG’s management team will provide an upscale, high-quality atmosphere that our guests will enjoy.”
Hancock Hotel will be conveniently located on the corner of South Main Street and East Lincoln Street on MPC’s campus in downtown Findlay, within walking distance of a number of retail stores and restaurants. Also within close proximity to the hotel is the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts, a premier destination for diverse arts programming, education and entertainment.
