February 10, 2021 – Downtown Beaverton, Oregon has a new world-class hotel with the opening tomorrow of a 125-room, 5-floor Hyatt House as the first joint venture between Dallas-based NewcrestImage and Portland-based Canterbury Hotel Group. The property is just seven miles west of downtown Portland.
“The opening of this Hyatt House is powerful testimony that hoteliers continue to provide the best of hotel experiences even during challenging travel times,” said Mehul Patel, Chairman and CEO of NewcrestImage. “We’ve created a property that is safe, comfortable, and special — where travelers can rest easy after a tough day on the road.”
Added Arvind Patel, CEO of Canterbury Hotel Group, “New vaccines are giving all of us realistic hope for a return to safety and a return to travel. Our new property combines the comfort and style of home, with the convenience of a hotel, so guests can feel calm and cozy surrounded by the very best in creature comforts and in socially-distanced service.”
Among the Hyatt House’s 125 guest rooms are 13 apartment-style suites that each features a fully-equipped kitchen and a separate living room in addition to a spacious bedroom and bathroom. Other hotel amenities include two indoor lounges; an outdoor patio and BBQ area; a 635-sq. ft. meeting room; plus a mini-market and a gym, both open 24 hours.
The new hotel is located in the heart of downtown Beaverton, convenient to a variety of business and leisure travel destinations, as well as to shopping, entertainment, and dining, such as the popular BG Food Cartel, an innovative food cart pod with 31 food carts, a speakeasy bar, and an event venue.
Also within blocks of the hotel are City Hall and the 550-seat Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, scheduled to open later this year.
Corporate headquarters near the Hyatt House include Nike, world-renowned sports apparel maker; Reser’s Fine Foods, one of the country’s largest family-owned and operated prepared food companies; and Leupold & Stevens, maker of telescopic sights, binoculars, eyewear, and other specialty optics.
The area is also a gateway to the Tualatin Valley and Cooper Mountain Nature Park, that are rich in wildlife, outdoor recreational activities, and wineries.
