BRECKENRIDGE, CO (September 7, 2017) – Global Connections, Inc. (GCI) has increased the size of the property surrounding Lodge by The Blue. Located in Breckenridge, CO, the Lodge is a family resort, located in the heart of some of the best skiing in Colorado and perfect for families looking for a convenient location in the Rockies.
Lodge by The Blue is six miles from Breckenridge, CO and a half hour from Keystone and A-Basin. The area is just an hour from the popular areas of Copper Mountain, Vail and Beaver Creek. Originally Lodge by The Blue was situated on three acres of pristine land, tucked at the base of the 14,271 ft. Mount Quandry.
Today, the perfect paradise for fly fishermen and skiers alike incorporates an additional 40 acres, recently purchased by Global Connections to enhance the resort and its surrounding property, bringing the resort property to 43 acres overall.
Tom Lyons, President and CEO of Global Connections, developer of Lodge by The Blue and a leader in the travel club industry says “When the additional acreage became available we jumped at the opportunity to expand the footprint of Lodge by The Blue. Our plans include growing the property but for now we are maintaining the wooded landscape to enhance our environment for our members and guests.”
“We want to leave much of the land undeveloped to maintain its authenticity. Our eventual plan is to develop 10 acres or less of the 40 acquired,” Lyons added.
Plans include a 2.5-mile walking and snowshoe trail (open to the public) and expanded access to the wetlands so Global Discovery Vacations’ members and guests may more easily enjoy The Blue River which runs through the property.
Lyons said that the occupancy has been off the charts year-round. “Since acquiring Lodge by The Blue we added the very popular Myla Rose Saloon which has increased the Lodge’s popularity, even with locals!”
“Summit County has been wonderful to work with as we redevelop this beautiful piece of property,” Lyons said. “We are proud to be near the top on all the rankings of small resorts in the area. Our goal is to provide more resort lodging to better serve our members and guests. Our plan also includes employee affordable housing so they can live where they work.”
In addition to Lodge by The Blue, Global Connections owns and operates Beso Del Sol (Huntington Beach, CA), Beso Del Sol Resort (Dunedin, FL), Sea Shells Beach Club (Daytona Beach, FL), and White Oak Lodge and Resort (Gatlinburg, TN). Its property management division works with resorts all over the United States as well as owning and leasing vacation condominiums in Hawaii, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico.
