OVERLAND PARK, KS – March 30, 2016 – Global Connections, Inc. (GCI) has completed major interior renovations to its Breckenridge, Colorado resort, Lodge by The Blue.
GCI CEO Tom Lyons says, “The Lodge is a family resort, located in the heart of some of the best skiing in Colorado and perfect for families looking for a convenient, affordable location in the Rockies.”
Global Connections has completely renovated the two story lobby including the addition of all new distressed wood flooring. The addition of antique-style gas lantern wall scones and a multi-tiered elk antler chandelier enhances the ski chalet atmosphere as does the authentic Navajo rug laid in front of the vintage open-faced stone fireplace with an Elk trophy mount. The lobby walls have been redecorated with teal and jute, and the après ski wine bar now sports granite counter tops. In addition, GCI has created a game and book lending library for guests as well as a convenience mart with sundries, snacks and outdoor supplies.
According to Dave Dawson, Vice President of Resort Acquisitions for GCI “we are waiting for spring to complete our outside work at the resort. In the meantime, we are able to modernize the resort common areas and suites so that guests can feel comfortable, cozy and relaxed after enjoying a day in the snow. We are proud to be receiving great feedback from Global Discovery Vacations Travel Club members as well as other guests.”
Guests at the family resort may choose from a number of spacious room sizes from suites to one-two bedrooms, and studios. The resort features include a heated indoor swimming pool, 10-person hot tub, and fitness center. The gigantic stone fireplace in the center of the lobby is a popular place for relaxing after a strenuous day on the slopes.
The new Lodge by The Blue is strategically located 5 ½ miles south of Breckenridge at the base of magnificent Mount Quandary, and within an hour of eight ski resort areas: Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin, Copper Mountain, Loveland, Ski Cooper, Vail and Beaver Creek. The sportsman’s paradise is situated on three acres with the Blue River running through it. The famous Continental Divide is only three miles away.
