Chatham, Massachusetts – June 12, 2023: Greyfinch Chatham Inn – the nautical seaside oasis located in the charming small town of Chatham, Massachusetts – is pleased to unveil its property-wide renovation. Formerly known as the Chatham Highlander Village Inn, Greyfinch Chatham Inn has debuted with a new name; four new room categories designed for travelers of all sizes; enhanced and fenced-in outdoor spaces, perfect for families with small children and friends looking for an intimate setting; a private pool as an alternative to the beach; and new offerings for guests like Priority Bicycles. Inspired by the picturesque coastal setting, the updated design complements the quintessential Cape Cod experience through a mix of nautical and modern elements, paying homage to the rich heritage of the destination.
“With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry and two of those years being on the Cape, I can proudly say that the newly transformed Greyfinch mirrors the spirit of this unique destination and embodies why travelers continue to visit year after year,” said Cletus Pancham, General Manager of Greyfinch Chatham Inn. “I hope to share my love of the Cape with our guests here at Greyfinch as we invite them to immerse themselves in the local life and enjoy all the area has to offer just steps away from our property.”
In addition to the hotel’s reimagined spaces, Greyfinch guests have a wide range of new programming on property that will be brought to life through pop-ups and partnerships with local businesses, from art and floral workshops to food tastings and wellness offerings.
Nautical History Meets Contemporary Coastal Design
Showcasing an impressive mix of nautical history and surrounding beaches of what was once a quiet fishing town rich in maritime culture, the property reflects Chatham’s distinct charm through crisp lines, warm woods, and brass elements. From the vision of concept-driven designer Caroline Rennie, interior designer at Group One Partners, the reimagined property offers four different categories of spacious accommodations designed for friends, couples and families traveling in all group sizes.
“With an overall understated coastal feel, we wanted Greyfinch Chatham Inn to pay homage to its rich history and location while speaking to the guests of Greyfinch,” said Caroline Rennie of Group One Partners. “The hotel’s seaside Cape Cod location inspired us to blueprint a restoration that plays with the historic yet modern rift on the classic beach getaway on the Cape.”
The lobby and outdoor bistro greet guests with creative décor including woven textured light fixtures and a ceramic boat hull suspended above the front desk. Guests can enjoy the Chatham sun by the pool during the day and cozy up by the fire pits in the evening. Guestrooms feature custom-designed furniture, updated bathrooms with glass showers and double vanities, and a kitchenette in the suites for ultimate convenience.
