Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) is expanding its news and information distribution arm with the launch of Clubs-Online™, a newsletter catering to club professionals. The newsletter, available to HFTP members and subscribers, will feature exclusive content presented by industry experts and geared to club professionals, owners, and board directors as it relates to finance and technology.

“HFTP’s mission is to advance technology and finance knowledge, and the performance of hospitality professionals globally, through creating standards and forums for innovation, learning, networking and belonging,” said 2024 HFTP Global President Stephanie Anderson, CHAE, CPA, CGMA, the CFO of River Bend Golf & Country Club. “Using HFTP’s global resources, we plan to increase the club network and publish best practices regardless of their location.”

Over the last year, HFTP has been researching the global industry to determine what a nonprofit professional association should offer the industry. The results are that the industry requires assistance with finance, technology, and industry best practices. The HFTP Global Board of Directors has embraced this need and has planned numerous initiatives for the coming year including publishing resources, a new club CFO event, and new online club finance certificate courses. HFTP also has plans to develop a Code of Digital Responsibility exclusively for clubs in the fourth quarter of the year.

“Protecting clubs and club members’ digital information is becoming increasingly paramount and this baseline code will assist all clubs toward this end,” said HFTP CEO Frank Wolfe, CAE. “The positions of finance and technology in the club are more important than ever due to the advances in technology, AI, evolution of a club members’ needs, and the need for business intelligence requires up to the date education. The complexity of today’s modern club management requires a strategic team of professionals. HFTP is doing our part to assist our allied associations and their members, as well as our own, with our new initiatives.”

Making the correct finance and technology decisions are a requisite for a club’s success. Progressive clubs recognize this and are requiring the club finance and technology professional to have a seat at the governance level to move the club forward strategically. This evolution is causing greater demand for education and information. Creating Clubs-Online is one tool in the box to help this transition. As the global hospitality spokes group for finance and technology HFTP has been offering stellar resources since 1952.
