SAO PAULO, Brazil and MCLEAN, Va. – October 15, 2018 – Today, Canopy by Hilton, Hilton’s (NYSE:HLT) lifestyle brand, announces its first property in Latin America with the signing of Canopy by Hilton São Paulo Jardins, slated to open in late 2019. Owned by Tati Construtora e Incorporadora and managed by Hilton, the 98-room adaptive re-use hotel will introduce locals and travelers alike to the brand’s guest-directed service and locally-authentic experience.
“Boasting the largest economy in Latin America, Brazil has consistently been a focus market in our development plans while we’ve explored opportunities to introduce Hilton’s industry-leading brands in the region,” said Leonardo Lido, director, development, Brazil, Hilton. “As we continue our expansion into Latin America, we look forward to working with Tati Construtora e Incorporadora and debuting our first Canopy by Hilton property in this diverse Latin American destination.”
Designed as a natural extension of the vibrant and pedestrian friendly neighborhood of Jardins, Canopy by Hilton São Paulo Jardins will welcome guests with a strong sense of place inspired by the area’s local surroundings, including an intimate lobby with chic design elements that provide a glimpse of the area’s trendy, upscale offerings. The hotel will feature Canopy Central, an area with a restaurant and bar serving local contemporary cuisine and a flexible meeting space, as well as a lounge and fitness center.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Canopy by Hilton brand to Latin America,” said Gary Steffen, global head, Canopy by Hilton. “As we seek opportunities to provide guests with thoughtful local choices, Canopy by Hilton fits seamlessly into the Jardins neighborhood and we look forward to bringing a fresh and energizing experience to one of São Paulo’s most recognized areas.”
Known as one of the most affluent neighborhoods in São Paulo, Jardins boasts high-end clothing stores, fine dining, and a culturally rich experience with museums such as the São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound, and the MASP (Sao Paulo Museum of Art). In the evening, the area bustles with some of the best nightclubs, live music venues, pubs and theaters to entertain every personality. The hotel will also boast easy access to the famous Paulista Avenua and Ibirapuera Park – one of Latin America’s most visited urban parks. As with all Canopy by Hilton hotels, Canopy by Hilton São Paulo Jardins will complement the energetic city by appealing to travelers looking for a culturally unique upper-upscale experience.
“It has been a great experience to work with Hilton on this initial stage of our project,” said Arnaldo Goldstein, owner, Tati Construtora e Incorporadora. “We look forward to collaborating further and together, introduce the Canopy by Hilton brand in Brazil.”
