BERLIN and MCLEAN, Va. – Hilton Worldwide (NYSE: HLT) is furthering the expansion of its Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn brands in Germany through an agreement with Tristar Hotel GmbH which will add 10 new hotels to its growing portfolio.
The first of the 10 hotels to be developed will be a newly built Hampton by Hilton Berlin City East, which will be built and owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) and will form part of Mercedes Platz, a complex developed by AEG located opposite the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Mercedes Platz will feature numerous restaurants and bars, a 4,000 capacity event hall and a state-of-the art cinema. Scheduled to open in 2018, Mercedes Platz is projected to attract up to 20 million visitors annually, and its set to become the heart and soul of the dynamically growing urban quarter along the historic East-Side-Gallery. The Hotel will be situated in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, one of the most vibrant districts in Berlin.

Plans for nine further hotels will be revealed over the coming months, all to be located in urban centres across Germany under both Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn brands. Under the terms of the franchise agreement, the management of the hotels will be undertaken solely by Tristar Hotel GmbH.

Featuring 254 guest rooms, Hampton by Hilton Berlin City East will become one of the brand’s largest hotels in Europe and will benefit from all its signature features as well as membership of the Hilton HHonors loyalty programme. The building itself will reach seven storeys high and will be located at Muehlenstrasse 13-19, 10243 Berlin.

This property at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which hosts international sports and artists of the calibre of Taylor Swift and Madonna, is another stellar addition.”
