Atlanta, GA – November 30, 2015 – Atlanta-based Hotel Equities announced the hiring of Lee Smith as the General Manager of the Hyatt Place Savannah Airport hotel located at 4 Stephen S. Green Drive in Savannah, Georgia.
Mr. Smith has responsibility for overseeing the management of all operations at the hotel including food & beverage concepts plus sales, marketing and revenue management strategies. The all-suites hotel is conveniently located only two miles from the Savannah Hilton Head International Airport off I-95 and a short distance from historic downtown Savannah.

An award-winning general manager with nearly 20 years of hospitality experience, Mr. Smith came to Hotel Equities from the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Savannah where he served as the General Manager. During his tenure, he successfully increased the hotel's annual revenue each year.
Mr. Smith began his hospitality career at a hotel in North Savannah where he trained on all positions while earning a degree from Georgia Southern University. After graduation, he joined the Holiday Inn Express in Port Wentworth, GA and worked his way up to Guest Services Manager. In 2005, he was named General Manager at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Savannah I-95 South where he led the hotel to win the brand's "Most Improved Hotel of the Year." His former management company named him the "Executive of the Year" in 2013.
