IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its boutique lifestyle offering in the southeastern U.S. with the opening of Hotel Indigo Columbus at Riverfront Place, a new premier destination for travelers to the Columbus, GA area. The stunning, new-build property is the most recent project from W.C. Bradley Real Estate, which has been dedicated to development and innovation in the region for more than 50 years. The hotel’s opening marks the seventh for the brand in the state.

Located in the heart of uptown Columbus and steps away from the 22-mile-long Chattahoochee River Walk, Mathews D. Swift Park, and Whitewater Express, Hotel Indigo Columbus at Riverfront Place is a prime destination for those relish the outdoors, as well as business travelers and leisure guests looking for rest and relaxation. Visitors can find retail, restaurants, and nightlife all within walking distance.

The hotel tells the stories of Columbus with nods to its rich past threaded throughout the design and guest experience. Subtle décor touches pay homage to Fort Benning, with green woven handles on the nightstands and the numbers “243’” on the dresser to mark how far Columbus is above sea level. Old pine wood at the elevator entrance was reclaimed from one of W.C. Bradley’s mills, and artwork throughout the hotel honors Columbus’ diverse history as an artists’ haven, nature preserve, military outpost and technology hub.

The property houses two dining options: Eighteen85 Rooftop Bar & Kitchen and Denim & Oak Riverfront Restaurant. Eighteen85, a tribute to the year W.C. Bradley Company was founded, features a design inspired by blues legend and Columbus native Ma Rainey and is the only area rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking the Chattahoochee River. Denim & Oak, named after the textile industry that once flourished in the area and the forests that surround it, will offer farm-to-table dining in a charming setting directly on the river bank.

Carol Hoeller, global head of Hotel Indigo, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome this stellar property to the Hotel Indigo family and expand more areas of discovery for our guests. This hotel demonstrates the best of Columbus – both its classic charm and its modern appeal. The design celebrates the area’s rich history of art, technology and nature, all with the contemporary elegance our brand is known for.”

Pace Halter, President & COO of W.C. Bradley Real Estate, added: “We began planning for this property more than three years ago and are very excited to have reached opening day for the hotel. This Hotel Indigo gives visitors a new way to explore everything Columbus has to offer and fulfills a need for area travelers looking for a premium hotel experience.”

The hotel features 107 stylish guestrooms, plush bedding, spa-like bathrooms, and unbeatable waterfront views of the Chattahoochee River. Additionally, the hotel will offer room service, an outdoor heated pool, 24-hour fitness center, and valet parking. Hotel Indigo Columbus at Riverfront Place also contains two separate event facilities, with floor-to-ceiling windows, which are equipped to handle private or corporate events accommodating more than 100 attendees.

While visiting an IHG hotel, guests and hotel staff can be reassured that cleanliness is top of mind throughout each step of the on-property experience. The company’s longstanding commitment to rigorous cleaning procedures includes the IHG Way of Clean program developed with Ecolab and Diversey, both world leaders in hygiene and cleaning technologies. The program, initially launched in 2015, features deep cleaning with disinfectants coupled with enhanced COVID-19-specific protocols and best practices, developed with experts from the Cleveland Clinic. Additionally, as a part of the IHG family of brands, Hotel Indigo properties offer guests additional peace of mind with the IHG Clean Promise. Guests can be reassured that their room will meet IHG’s high standards of cleanliness, and if not, the hotel will make it right.

There are currently 125 Hotel Indigo properties open globally* including the recently opened Hotel Indigo Chattanooga Downtown and Hotel Indigo Cleveland Downtown, with another 104 in the pipeline to open in the next three – five years.
