LOS ANGELES, Calif. (JULY 30, 2018) – Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) announced that Gino Caliendo has been appointed General Manager of the 580-room hotel.
In this position, Caliendo is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s management. Some of his responsibilities include managing the recently opened Hyatt Regency LAX with 580 rooms, as well as working with staff of 350 colleagues. He is also involved with budgets and forecasting, guest satisfaction, and owner/community relations.

Caliendo has demonstrated his passion for people and the hospitality industry throughout his career, especially in his track record within the Hyatt Hotels family. In three years, Caliendo transformed a struggling Hyatt Regency Jacksonville hotel into a flourishing establishment with 20 percent sales growth and record sales and margins. He then went on to make distinct improvements at three other Hyatt Regency hotels in Coral Gables and Miami, Florida, and Hill Country, in San Antonio, Texas.
In his more than 20-year career with Hyatt Regency establishments, Caliendo has been nominated as Hyatt GM of the Year twice (2004 and 2008) and received the Global Hyatt Thrive Aware for “doing it all” (2011). Caliendo describes himself as a “results-focused and strategic leader with a passion for excellence” in building and leading successful hospitality businesses. He plans to become involved with Gateway LA and the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board.
