INDIAN WELLS, CA – March 29, 2022 – Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Johnson as general manager. In Johnson’s new role, he will oversee the management and operation of the 530-room desert escape situated in the heart of Greater Palm Springs.
Johnson boasts 27 years of hospitality experience at Hyatt Hotels across the country, working his way up from intern to general manager. He began his career in 1994 at Park Hyatt Washington D.C., where he worked as a PBX switchboard operator, which allowed him to learn the inner workings of the hotel industry. He then moved on to work in several different positions within Hyatt Hotels including front office manager, executive housekeeper, director of rooms, and more.
Johnson comes to Hyatt Regency Indian Wells from Grand Hyatt Vail, where he joined the team in 2019 and lead the transition from Hotel Talisa to Grand Hyatt Vail. Prior to this, he served as general manager at Hyatt Regency Austin and Hyatt Regency Savannah, which marked his first general manager position in 2015.
Throughout his career with Hyatt, Johnson has attained numerous awards and recognitions, including Hyatt Hotels Room Executive of the Year in 2009, as well as finalist for General Manager of the Year of Hyatt Hotels in 2018.

Johnson graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Travel & Tourism Management. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his son’s baseball team, playing golf, and traveling.
