ATLANTA, Nov. 2, 2022 – IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, today announced a new 25-year management agreement with Willard Associates for The Willard InterContinental Hotel, one of Washington, D.C.’s most iconic and storied hotels.
The Willard’s rich history and sophisticated architecture have made it a premier luxury hotel in the heart of the nation’s capital. Located just one block from the White House, the Willard is a 12-story luxury hotel with 335 guest rooms, including 55 suites and 14 specialty suites. With unparalleled views of the city’s most recognizable sites, the Willard’s authentic French brasserie (Café du Parc), historic Round Robin Bar, full service on-site media studio, co-working center, and 24,000 square feet of meeting and event space offer both visitors and locals a place for personal and professional engagement.
The new agreement represents IHG and Willard Associates’ long-standing and mutually beneficial partnership. The Willard Center combines the synergies of the office, the hotel and retail to offer a world-class mixed-use destination. Additionally, the organizations’ affiliate partner, Carr Companies, also serves as the managing member of two other nearby IHG-branded properties – the 278-room InterContinental Washington D.C. – The Wharf, and the 120-room Hotel Indigo Old Town Alexandria.
Elie Maalouf, CEO – Americas, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “We are very pleased to continue our valued relationship and partnership with Willard Associates. Their vast experience and accomplishments are among the many reasons we’re excited to continue working together. We look forward to delivering many more years of memorable guest experiences at InterContinental Willard – the landmark hotel in the nation’s capital.”
Oliver T. Carr, Jr., Chairman, Willard Associates, said: “We look forward to many years of continued collaboration with IHG, our trusted partner since the reopening of the Willard Hotel in 1986. For more than 200 years, the Willard has been home to D.C.’s most momentous events and occasions, and that tradition continues today through our fine restaurants, guest rooms, meeting spaces, offices, spa and media production studio. Together with IHG, we will ensure that The Willard Center continues to innovate in the way people travel, meet and work, and make new history along the way.”
