Falling under the top 10 largest economies in the EU and having been recognised as the best European Destination in 2018, Poland’s hospitality industry is continuing to thrive. The latest signing underscores the rapid hotel development in the country as well as IHG’s commitment to the market. The Holiday Inn Express Wroclaw will be located on one of the most important arterial roads in the city of Wroclaw, giving the hotel a beautiful sight of the buzzing Poludnie district, with its increasingly popular culinary scene and food markets. The 142-room hotel will be a new build development representing the seventh Holiday Inn Express in Poland, enabling IHG to continue their strong and successful presence within the Polish market.
Mario Maxeiner, Managing Director, Northern Europe, IHG, commented: “We are extremely excited to further grow our footprint across Poland as it is an important market for IHG with great potential. The Holiday Inn Express Wroclaw will create a number of new employment opportunities in Wroclaw and it continues our important investment and contribution to the Polish economy. We are happy to be partnering with IMS Budownictwo, a company that has just as much confidence in the market as we do.”
Eugeniusz Chodacki, President, IMS Budownictwo commented: “We are thrilled to partner with IHG and leverage their strong industry experience and systems. It was an honour to announce our partnership and exciting news of our new hotel at the IHG Investor Day in Poland, an established format for IHG partners to network and exchange latest updates and news from the business.”
As IHG’s fastest growing hotel brand, Holiday Inn Express is the first choice for travellers who need a simple place to stay, whilst offering everything a guest may need. For owners, the brand offers the ability to drive higher returns by delivering exceptional stays and leveraging IHG’s powerful systems, including IHG® Rewards Club, one of the world’s largest hotel loyalty programmes.
IHG currently has 11* hotels open in Poland across the brands InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Hotel Indigo. An additional 19 hotels are in the pipeline, with the majority to open by 2022, effectively tripling IHG’s system size in the country and expanding the brand portfolio by two additional brands: Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites.
