IMIC Hotels (Interstate Management and Investment Company) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Tam, as Vice-President of Hotel operations. Mr. Tam will be responsible for operations of all of IMIC’s hotels located in various locations throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. IMIC Hotels is an award-winning approved franchise operator of Hilton, Marriott, Wyndham, and Choice hotel brands.
Immediately prior to joining IMIC Hotels, Mr. Tam was Chief Operating Officer / Asset Manager for Junson Hospitality, a private Two-Billion Dollar family equity investment capital group based in Chengdu, China. Mr. Tam was in charge of all full-service hotel operations for their North America portfolio. His responsibilities included 3rd party management company selection, asset management, hotel site selection, product improvement planning, financial analysis, and market valuation.
Mr. Tam’s past experience also includes being a Director of Operations / General Manager for the full-service Hilton Columbia Center Hotel anchored by 200 seat Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, the 60,000 square feet University of South Carolina Alumni Center, and the 142,000 square feet Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
Present and past civic involvement includes President of Columbia Hotel Association, Chairman of Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports, and Tourism, City of Columbia Tax Advisory Committee, Columbia Urban League, Richland County Tax Accommodations Advisory Board, and the University of South Carolina Hospitality School. In 2009, Mr. Tam was named South Carolina hotel manager of the year by the Hospitality Association of South Carolina.
Mr. Tam resides in Columbia, South Carolina with his wife, Kelly, and two children Abby (11) and Carter (6)
