New York, NY (February 18, 2016) – Meliá Hotels International, Spain’s leading hotel chain, is pleased to announce Andrew Tilley as the General Manager of its first New York property, INNSIDE New York NoMad. A veteran of the hospitality industry, Tilley has more than 30 years of experience as an international hotelier, working exclusively with Meliá Hotels International since 2010.

Most recently within Meliá Hotels International, Tilley acted as General Manager of Meliá Nassau Beach, the company’s first hotel in the English speaking Caribbean located on the famed Cable Beach in the Bahamas. Previously, he was General Manager of the Gran Meliá Golf Resort Puerto Rico where he was nominated for the Worldwide Hospitality Awards Best General Manager in the Luxury/Upscale/Palaces category in 2012.
Previous to his time with Meliá Hotels International, Tilley held senior management positions with Hard Rock Hotels, both within their corporate office and at hotel level. Tilley has lived in various countries worldwide including England, Scotland, Zambia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
In his new position at INNSIDE New York NoMad, Tilley will work closely with the hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Michael Newman. Most recently the Director of Sales & Marketing for Element By Westin Times Square West and previously with Affinia Manhattan, Hilton Long Island, Millennium Un Plaza New York and a multitude of Hyatt properties, Newman will work with Tilley to target the flux of incoming groups visiting nearby attractions such as Madison Square Garden and the Javits Center.
Opening in February 2016, INNSIDE New York NoMad will be a North American flagship property for the brand. The hotel will consist of 313 spacious guestrooms, including eight terrace suites offering spectacular views of the Empire State Building, that cater to both savvy business travelers and leisure guests along with a celebrity chef driven restaurant concept. With a prime central location in the heart of the city’s NoMad neighborhood, the hotel will deliver smart and efficient service, contemporary design and exceptional technology to guests.
