To Open in Early 2018
March 03, 2015 – BERLIN and MCLEAN, Va. – Hilton Worldwide today announced that it has signed an agreement to open its largest Hampton by Hilton hotel to date, in central Berlin. With 344 guest rooms and a prime city centre location, Hampton by Hilton Berlin Alexanderplatz is slated to open in early 2018.
The hotel is being developed under a franchise agreement with Interstar Hotel GmbH, which owns and operates a number of hotels across Germany. Hilton Worldwide announced the news at International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) in Berlin, having recently confirmed its position as the world’s largest and fastest growing hospitality company.
Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe & Africa, Hilton Worldwide said, “We remain focused on expanding our economy and mid-market portfolio in key gateway cities across Europe, and 2014 saw Hilton Worldwide introduce substantial Hampton by Hilton properties in destinations including London, Warsaw and Istanbul, to name a few. This latest hotel will add substantially to our economy presence in central Berlin – a city which attracted 28.7 million overnight stays in 2014 alone, thanks to its fundamental appeal as a business and leisure destination.”
The new hotel continues Hampton by Hilton’s growth in key urban locations across Europe, and joins more than 90 hotels trading or under development in the region1. Hampton by Hilton Berlin Alexanderplatz is situated less than 400 metres from the popular Alexanderplatz square, in the heart of Berlin and the German capital’s prime business district. Guests at the hotel will have excellent access to the Berlin’s transport network, with a tram station directly in front of the hotel and S-Bahn and underground stations both within walking distance.
