Okinawa, Japan – Oct. 25, 2024 – Halekulani Okinawa, the only Double Five-Star luxury resort in Okinawa, today announces the appointment of Shigeki Yamamoto to the position of Director of Sales and Marketing. With an extensive hospitality background, Mr. Yamamoto is well positioned to lead the property’s sales and marketing efforts and perpetuate its standing as one of the finest luxury hotels in Japan.

In his role, Mr. Yamamoto will oversee all aspects of sales and marketing, including developing strategies to expand the resort’s international reach and delivering unparalleled guest experiences that align with the Halekulani brand reputation for luxury and excellence.
Mr. Yamamoto brings with him nearly two decades of experience to the role, most recently serving as the Director of Sales and Marketing at The Kahala Hotel & Resort Yokohama as well as Director of Marketing at Yokohama Baycourt Club. During his tenure, he played an integral role in the successful openings of both properties and guided the teams through numerous challenges that came with launching during the COVID-19 pandemic. His expertise extends to collaborating with international luxury partners, including securing key contracts with Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) and Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR).
Earlier in his career, Mr. Yamamoto held pivotal roles at other prominent hospitality brands, including MOXY Tokyo Kinshicho & MOXY Osaka Honmachi, where he spearheaded the entry of the MOXY brand into the Asian market as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, where he worked in the global sales office.
