DALLAS – October 4, 2022 – JW Marriott Dallas Arts District, set to open in spring of 2023, appoints Mike Culver as general manager of the first JW Marriott hotel in Dallas. Culver will join the hotel’s leadership team after previously serving as hotel manager at the Marriott Marquis Houston.
Culver brings an impressive background and great deal of experience to the 23-floor, 267 room hotel which will open in the heart of the Dallas Arts District, the largest contiguous arts district in the United States.
Beginning his career in hospitality with Starwood Hotels in 2003, Culver has led teams in hotel operations across multiple brands. He has managed hotels in completing renovation projects and has achieved records in revenue and produced best-in-class results in Guest Satisfaction, Elite Member Satisfaction, and Associate Engagement.

JW Marriott Dallas Arts District will feature three restaurants, spacious lobby and cocktail lounge, meeting and conference areas, ballroom, fitness center, and a show-stopping mid-air pool and deck with 40 foot ceilings, terrace bar, cabanas, and outdoor event space offering prime views of the downtown area and beyond. The hotel is located near many of Dallas’ best museums including the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, Crow Museum of Asian Art, and more.
