June 2015 – The luxury Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates in Dubai selected MCOM HOTstream Smart TV hospitality solution to upgrade the in-room TV experience, offering in parallel for the first time in hospitality HD quality live TV channels for guest and hotel owned tablets and smartphones.
Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates changed the complete Interactive TV and IPTV infrastructure selecting HOTstream (www.hotstream.eu) as their new platform. Under the scope of this project MCOM provided the HOTstream IPTV headend solution for 3D/HD channel quality. Inside the hotel rooms, HOTstream HD user interface is installed on the newly acquired Hotel Smart LED TVs allowing the hotel to provide crystal clear image quality and up to 3D viewing experience for all guests. In parallel, HOTstream is already interfaced with the hotel’s PMS and Guest Service Platform allowing guests to place orders, requests and make reservations for the many hotel facilities and services. With respect to the Mall of the Emirates, HOTstream user interface has a dedicated section with detailed information for all stores and an area specially reserved to host the continuously updated promotions and advertisements.
With a long history of innovative services for their guests, Kempinski Mall of the Emirates became the first hotel providing HD quality live TV channels to the guest tablets and smartphones. By fully utilizing MCOM HOTstream’s experience in OTT adaptive streaming technologies, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates allows guests to watch live TV channels anywhere inside the hotel area on their preferred device supporting both iOS and Android based devices.
