New York, NY (November 28, 2017) – Loews Hotels & Co announces the appointment of Robert Rivers, general manager, Loews Boston Hotel, and Hans Ritten, general manager, Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel.
Robert Rivers oversees Loews Boston Hotel, the historic property that was formerly the Boston Police Department headquarters. His 20 year track record of results driven excellence is evident by his most recent role with Millennium Hotels, where he was the general manager of The Bostonian Hotel. With a customer service focus, Rivers led the 204 room property and North 26 Restaurant and Bar to produce an annual revenue of over $23 million, be a four-time AAA Four Diamond Recipient from 2012-2016 and Meetings & Convention Hotel of the Year and Guest Satisfaction Hotel of the Year, both in 2015.
Previously, Rivers was the general manager at the Millennium Hotel Minneapolis for ten years and oversaw, both The Bostonian and Millennium Hotel Minneapolis from 2011-2013, before moving back to Boston full-time in 2013. While in the Midwest, Rivers led a $22.3 million dollar property renovation – participating in the redesign, ADA review, group relocation, staff and union transitions, Project Account and CO and FRX Review – which led to an annual revenue production of over $18 million and ranked #3 in overall customer satisfaction.
Rivers is a Board Member with AccesSportAmerica, a not-for-profit organization which inspires higher function and fitness for children and adults of all disabilities through high-challenge sports and training.
Hans Ritten will oversee Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel, located in Rosemont, IL, just outside downtown Chicago. He has over 25 years of experience with both branded and independent luxury hotels in airport, suburban, convention, and resort destinations. Most recently, Ritten was general manager of Omni Hotel Chicago where he was involved with a complete room renovation in 2015, improved Medallia ranking within Omni hotels from number 28 to number 4 – including a number 1 ranking in Food & Beverage in 2016, and improved year-over-year RevPAR index in both 2015 and 2016.
Prior to Omni Hotel Chicago, Ritten was general manager of The Silversmith Hotel, a four diamond, independent luxury boutique hotel in downtown Chicago. His extensive experience including overseeing hotels and resorts as general manager, in addition to Rooms Division and Food & Beverage includes One Ocean Resort & Spa in Atlantic Beach, FL; Kansas City Airport Marriott in Kansas City, MO, Philadelphia Marriott Downtown in Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore Marriott Waterfront and Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD; and Interstate Hotel and Resorts in Orlando, FL.
Ritten hails from The Netherlands, is a member of the Government Affairs Committee of the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association, and lives with his wife and teenage son in the suburbs of Chicago.
