Shannon Hartman, Director of Sales & Marketing at Emeline
With 20 years of sales, marketing and project management experience, Shannon Hartman is no stranger to the hospitality business in Charleston. Born and raised in South Carolina, she has a deep appreciation for the coastal city and its culinary, art and history scene. This sense of gratitude parlays into her commitment to creating a desired destination that is loved by both locals and visitors alike.
Hartman started her career working as an event planner, where she had the opportunity to engage with customers to understand the level of service that they expect. This experience led her to find a passion for sales and marketing. Before calling Emeline home, Hartman was the Director of Sales & Marketing at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, a full-service waterfront resort comprised of Harborside, a 125-guestroom waterfront resort. While there, Hartman drove the sales and marketing strategy to open Beach Club, a 92-guestroom Leading Hotel of the World property.
Hartman is a graduate of the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in English and holds an International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) from the University of South Carolina. Her degree has allowed her to teach English Literature at The Citadel and leadership and communication courses in the hospitality industry at Trident Technical College. Hartman is also actively involved in the community, serving on various boards and committees such as the South Carolina Society of Association Executives and Meeting Professionals International. As the Director of Sales & Marketing at Emeline, Hartman will oversee the sales, marketing and events teams handling Emeline, Hank’s Loft and the newly introduced Hank’s Social Hall.
“Our philosophy is to deliver one-of-a-kind experiences that are unique to the communities and neighborhoods in which we’re in,” advises Christine Magrann, COO of Makeready. “Brad and Shannon embody the spirit of Emeline – a curious adventurer and consummate host – and have the know-how that’s needed to bring our vision to life. I am thrilled to have this duo at the helm of our new hotel in Charleston and look forward to their success.”
