InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, announces the opening of the 75-room Holiday Inn Resort® Catalina Island hotel in Avalon, California. This property is the second Holiday Inn Resort location in California, joining the Holiday Inn Resort The Lodge at Big Bear Lake hotel, and is the only full service hotel located on Catalina Island.

Situated in the picturesque hills of Avalon and accessible only by ferry or helicopter, the newly converted resort is near Downtown Avalon and Descanso Beach. Guests can rent golf carts or take advantage of the resort’s free shuttle to get around the island, take land and boat tours of the area and visit the local golf courses and the Catalina Casino, which houses a movie theater, ballroom and an island art and history museum.
The hotel offers an outdoor pool, Jacuzzi®, spa, fitness center, business center, complimentary Wi-Fi and full service restaurant, Seaport Bistro. The resort also features over 5,000 sq. ft. of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space with available on-site catering.
