IRVINE, Calif. (October 24, 2018) –– Today, Marriott Irvine Spectrum is pleased to announce the appointment of Dianne Markis as General Manager. Representing a next-gen mindset, General Manager Dianne Markis brings over 13 years of experience to the newly opened Marriott Irvine Spectrum. Markis oversees all aspects of the full-service, dynamic hotel, which opened in December 2017, and features 271 guest rooms including 50 Premier Suites, its locally-sourced restaurant, Heirloom Farmhouse Kitchen, Hive & Honey Rooftop Bar, and more than 13,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. Equal parts business hotel and community social hub, Marriott Irvine Spectrum breaks convention by seamlessly blending contemporary rustic styling with the latest impressive technology upgrades, creating inspiring guest rooms and meeting spaces, all geared towards the new millennia.
Markis joined Marriott International in 2017 as the resident manager of Anaheim Marriott. Previously, Markis was the general manager at the Fullerton Marriott at California State University, where she was named one of the “Top 33 GM’s to Watch” by Hotel Management Magazine. Over the span of her career, she has held management positions at a variety of hotel brands including Marriott, Sheraton and Hyatt Place, taking her first general manager position at just 21 years of age.
In her new role as GM at Marriott Irvine Spectrum, Markis aims to position the hotel at the forefront of innovation and technology as the central gathering place for all of Orange County, while being a true partner in the Irvine community through the hotel’s services and support of local organizations including Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
Markis earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Corporate Finance at California State University, Fullerton and currently resides in Anaheim with her husband.
