Tampa, FL (August 11, 2020)McKibbon Hospitality, an award-winning leader in hotel management, today announced the appointment of hospitality veteran Todd Kinney as General Manager of the new Hyatt House Tampa Avion Park. Upon completion, Kinney will be responsible for overseeing all operations for the 145-room, extended-stay hotel, which is slated to open at the end of this year.

Kinney, who has been with McKibbon Hospitality since 1997, brings nearly 30 years of extensive and tenured hospitality management experience to Hyatt House Tampa Avion Park. Most recently, he served as a Regional Vice President of Operations for McKibbon, where he was responsible for supporting a portfolio of 14 hotels with leadership development and recruitment of general managers, operational strategy and budget planning, sales initiatives, guest satisfaction, and more.

Before joining the McKibbon corporate team, Kinney held multiple General Manager positions at McKibbon-managed hotels in the Tampa Bay area and beyond, including Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Airport, Homewood Suites by Hilton Tampa Airport, Courtyard by Marriott Tampa North, Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Tampa, and Courtyard by Marriott Knoxville. In 2015, he was named McKibbon Hospitality’s General Manager of the Year, recognizing his leadership, industry expertise, and dedication to providing top-notch guest experiences.

Kinney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, and currently serves on the Hillsborough County Hotel Motel Association board.
