SAUSALITO, Calif (March 16, 2016) – MetWest Terra Hospitality is proud to welcome General Manager, Carmen Cruz to the esteemed Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa. An established leader in the hospitality industry, Cruz brings more than 25 years of international hotel experience to the historic property. In her new role, Cruz is responsible for the continued success of the hotel, overseeing the day-to-day operations and providing exceptional guest service at one of the Bay Area’s most luxurious destinations.

Cruz was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain where she began her illustrious career at luxury, five-star, five-diamond and boutique hotels throughout Europe. Following her move to the Bay Area, Cruz rose from front office manager to director of front office operations at the Hilton San Francisco. She later went on to hold key management positions at the Hilton Pasadena and The Curtis Hotel in Denver, Colorado. Prior to joining MetWest Terra Hospitality, Cruz was General Manager at Hotel Zephyr, where she successfully led a multi-million-dollar renovation while achieving 12% rate growth, along with increased revenues through strategicpartnerships.

Cruz earned her Bachelor Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration at the UB Centro Espanol De Nuevas Profesions, and completed certificate programs in both Business Administration and Revenue Management from University of California at Berkeley and Cornell University. Cruz has truly found her home in the Bay Area, as the culture and beauty of a waterfront town like Sausalito feels just like her home in Barcelona.
