Frankfurt am Main, 3 August 2017 – French-born Michel Cottray has been appointed General Manager at Steigenberger Wiltcher’s in Brussels with effect from October. Mr. Cottray gained his vast experience in countries like Germany, Luxembourg, Monaco, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Australia with international hotel brands such as the InterContinental Hotel Group, The Luxury Collection of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Le Meridien, Westin, Sheraton and Sofitel.

“We are delighted to welcome Michel Cottray to our company,” said COO Thomas Willms. “He is an extremely experienced hotelier who will enrich our hotel group portraying outstanding leadership at our Belgium flagship hotel.”

Mr. Cottray began his career at the “Jean Drouant Hotel Academy” in Paris. In 1998, he was appointed to his first General Manager assignment in Australia followed by continued key General Manager positions worldwide. In 2007, he obtained an Executive MBA in Tourism Management at Chur University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland.

Mr. Willms also commented on the development plans pursued by the company. “Over the next few years, Deutsche Hospitality will open 26 hotels in Africa, Asia and Europe. This international expansion further strengthens our position as an attractive employer for cosmopolitan, skilled managers within the hospitality industry.”

Mr. Cottray will move to Brussels to replace current General Manager Johannes Oldenburger, who will now enter his well-deserved retirement. Thomas Willms stated: “We would like to thank Han Oldenburger for his outstanding work both in Brussels and previously in Cologne.”
