A late April 2016 opening is planned for the hotel owned by Conor Acquisitions Group and managed by Hotel Equities.
Atlanta, GA – December 22, 2015 – The Joplin Hotel began a $6 million, full-scale renovation process this week to convert the property to a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel. Conor Acquisitions Group, owner of the hotel, plans to reconfigure the guest rooms, meeting space and public areas of the five-story iconic hotel building on East Hammons Boulevard in central Joplin, Missouri. They anticipate a Grand Opening celebration in late April 2016.
In June 2015, Conor tapped Atlanta-based Hotel Equities, their management partner, to manage the hotel. "We are thrilled to be part of this exiting project," said Dominic Buompastore, Vice President of Operations/Full Service & Resorts for Hotel Equities. "The transformation of Hotel Joplin to the well-known DoubleTree by Hilton will positively impact the entire community and create a venue where patrons can stay and play."
Repositioned, the hotel will be the centerpiece of Joplin and make it the iconic place to meet in the mid-west.
"In order to push ahead with construction and complete the renovation as quickly as possible, we are limiting reservations at this time," said General Manager Glynn Knight. "Our priority is always the comfort and convenience of our guests as we prepare to deliver the best full service hotel in the region."
Located adjacent to the Joplin Convention & Trade Center with its 30,000 square feet of convention space, the hotel itself will offer over 15,000 square feet of meeting space, plus a lobby bar and restaurant. The hotel will provide premier food and beverage offerings not only for guests, but for the entire community.
