SEATTLE, WA. – September 18, 2018 – Motif Seattle, A Destination Hotel, has named award-winning hospitality leader Steve Sasso as General Manager. In his new role, Sasso oversees day-to-day operations of Seattle’s largest independent hotel, which recently underwent a $10 million renovation.
As a hospitality industry veteran with nearly twenty years of management experience at hotels across the US, Sasso comes to Motif Seattle from Interstate Hotels and Resorts, where he served as General Manager at The London NYC and General Manager at Paramount Times Square. Prior to Interstate, Sasso was with Denihan Hospitality Group. As General Manager at New York’s The Benjamin Hotel, he was named HSMAI “GM of the Year” for New York City. During his time with Denihan, he also served as General Manager of Eastgate Tower, Affinia Gardens and Affinia Dumont, all located in New York.
Previously, Sasso held the role of Hotel Manager of the Acqualina Resort & Spa on Miami Beach where he oversaw all hotel, restaurant and spa operations. Sasso also held previous leadership roles at Boston’s The Copley Square Hotel, The Westin New York at Times Square and The W New York.

Sasso conducted his undergraduate studies in New Hampshire and Switzerland and attended University of Massachusetts Amherst working toward his MBA and MS degrees. He also completed the 2014 General Manager Program at Cornell University. He is also passionate about paying it forward and is an active member of UMASS Amherst’s hospitality leadership advisory board and AHLEF’s scholarship committee which awarded a record-breaking $1.3 million scholarships this year alone.
