PACIFIC HARBOUR, FIJI (December 2019) – Nanuku, Auberge Resorts Collection, the award-winning South Pacific paradise set along the legendary and adventurous coastline of Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu, is pleased to announce the appointment of hospitality professional Logan Miller to General Manager. The intimate resort welcomes Miller back to his country of origin to act as an industry and destination expert for the five-star resort. In addition to Miller’s appointment, the property has had much to celebrate this year with the unveiling of 13 brand new contemporary Auberge Beach Villas, a top placement in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards as the no. 1 resort in Australia and the South Pacific and the title of Sustainable Tourism Company of The Year in the 2019 Travel Weekly Australia Travel Awards.
“Nanuku’s strong ties to its destination can be seen in various ways, from our authentic cultural programming that honors Fiji’s history to our sustainability initiatives that give back to the community that houses us down to every homegrown ingredient we proudly serve our guests through our destination-driven culinary program,” said Chris Gabaldon, Chief Operating Officer for Auberge Resorts Collection. “Logan is yet another example of the best of Fiji and we are delighted to have him back at the property.”
Born and raised in Fiji, Miller received a Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Blue Mountains Hotel School in Sydney, Australia. After graduation, he began a one-year intensive Manager In Training program at Four Seasons Sydney, where he learned all aspects of food and beverage operations management before working full-time at the property. An innate globetrotter, Miller spent a year working while traveling throughout Europe until he eventually moved to the United States and landed at Amangani Resort in Wyoming as a Guest Services Manager. After almost two years, he left the cold to return home to sunny Fiji and officially join the Auberge and Nanuku family as Director of Food and Beverage. Most recently, he acted as Director of Operations for Calistoga Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection in Napa where his nurturing personality made a positive impact on guests and employees alike.
“I am honored to be back at Nanuku where I can share the love I have for my home with our guests and guide them on an immersive, enriching journey into the Fijian culture,” said Miller. “What sets Nanuku apart is our high caliber of team members who take the time to form quality connections with guests and leave lasting impressions, and I am thrilled to return to my roots to work alongside a team that exemplifies true Fijian hospitality.”
In his new role as General Manager, Miller oversees all facets at Nanuku including the more than 50 unique “Auberge Adventures” such as camping on Nanuku’s own private island, beekeeping, mangrove replanting, and snorkeling the resort’s own coral reef. An explorer who enjoys being near the ocean and is knowledgeable on everything Fiji, Miller is a perfect fit at Nanuku and sees the property as his second home. When not at work, Miller loves to cook for family and friends and spend quality time with his wife Janice and their two daughters.
