A key member of the team that guided the renovation (from leading the experiential design and hotel operations to steering the branding and product curation), Bijeh-Apple brings more than 18 years of experience–and a reputation for creating exceptional guest and employee experiences–to his new role at Otis. The 31-key mid-century modern escape is already generating high accolades for its impeccable design, unparalleled service, cocktail lounge, cafe and general store. Rooted in the magic of Michigan’s quintessential “Up North” culture, Otis offers eight acres with scenic views, a stunning natural setting, and a new standard of hospitality for Northern Michigan.
Pivotal in creating this one-of-a-kind hospitality experience, Bijeh-Apple’s career includes directing training and hospitality standards for more than 70 brick and mortar retail stores across multiple fashion and accessory brands. Bijeh-Apple most recently served as the Director of Brand Experience at Shinola Detroit, where in 2013, he led the launch of the timepiece and leather goods brand to over 500 locations globally, as well as played an important role in shaping the brand’s culture, in-store hospitality standards, customer loyalty programming, community involvement, brand events, and more. Bijeh-Apple brought his hospitality development to the Shinola Hotel, which opened to much acclaim in 2019.
Bijeh-Apple continues his passion for creating exceptional experiences in his role at Otis, where he is enthusiastic in establishing the boutique property as a one of a kind hospitality experience in Northern Michigan.
