February 4, 2016The new Embassy Suites Amarillo Downtown continues to progress towards an opening in June of 2017 with owner and developer NewcrestImage naming the hotel’s key executive: Donna Paraliticci becomes General Manager of the new hotel effective immediately.

Paraliticci has almost 20 years of hospitality management experience, most recently as General Manager of the Courtyard Amarillo Downtown since December of 2010 when the property opened in the historic Fisk Building. The hotel, also owned and operated by NewcrestImage, won an award from the Texas Downtown Association for “Best Adaptive Reuse” project.

The Embassy Suites project, which began construction in October of last year, is an ambitious public/private partnership between NewcrestImage and the City of Amarillo. It is located in the heart of downtown directly across the street from the Amarillo Civic Center complex and adjacent to the Globe News Center of Performing Arts.

Features of the new hotel, which is expected to be rated by AAA as “four diamonds” for its upscale amenities and service, will include 225 one-bedroom and studio suites; 18,000 sq. ft. of meeting space; a 10,000 sq. ft. ballroom; an indoor swimming pool; an upscale full-service restaurant and lounge; and a full-service spa with four treatment rooms.

A 750-space parking garage and a multi-purpose event center have been approved by the city for construction immediately adjacent to the hotel’s south side.

“We are designing and staffing this property so we can provide an exceptionally amazing experience for every guest during every stay,” said Mehul Patel, Chairman and CEO of NewcrestImage. “Donna, as General Manager, will lead our initiative and she will be vital in helping us launch downtown Amarillo’s newest, most dramatic landmark.”

Paraliticci’s extensive experience includes senior management positions at numerous full-service “four-diamond” hotels, notably in Phoenix, Dallas, and Fort Lauderdale, as well as in the Philippines.

Currently, Dallas-based NewcrestImage owns and operates 20 properties, with another 10 properties under construction or in development in addition to the Embassy Suites.
