NewcrestImage opens its first Canopy by Hilton tomorrow — a 150-room, seven-floor hotel at Frisco Station in north Dallas. The property is the third hotel in an innovative four-brand, 600-room “lifestyle hotel campus” developed by NewcrestImage.
Operating since August of 2019 are the first two hotels – an AC Hotel and Residence Inn, each with 150 rooms – that are housed together in a dual-brand building. The fourth hotel, a 150-room Hyatt Place, currently has no scheduled date for start of construction.
“The opening of this Canopy symbolizes the story of hospitality’s comeback around the country and around the world,” said Mehul Patel, Chairman and CEO of NewcrestImage. “Our company’s commitment to serve travelers is not a victim of coronavirus, and we have many hygiene procedures in place so guests can feel safe, comfortable, and special.”
Examples include disinfecting guest luggage on arrival; more technology and less physical interaction during check-in and check-out; sanitizing surfaces in public areas every hour; and modifying the HVAC system to prevent spread of microbes and virus.
“The way we are doing business is different, but our values and our reasons for being in business are very much the same,” added Patel. “Connecting with travelers is in our DNA — even if that connection is from six feet away for now.”
According to Gary Steffen, global head, Canopy by Hilton, “We are excited to partner with the team from NewcrestImage on bringing Canopy to life in the dynamic Frisco, Texas neighborhood, one of the fastest growing cities in the nation. Canopy hotels are a natural extension of their neighborhoods which is reflected in the design, food and drink, artwork, and other key elements of the guest journey.”
Decor at the Canopy by Hilton in Frisco evokes boutique-like charm by using locally-inspired design, furnishings, and artwork, while also offering cutting-edge technology. Guest rooms feature the distinctive Canopy headboard that reaches to the ceiling and overhangs the bed.
NewcrestImage’s four-hotel campus is one-of-a-kind in the United States. The hotels are located within 50 feet of each other in the heart of Frisco Station, yet each property retains a distinctive look and target travel market.
Frisco Station is a 242-acre planned complex about 25 minutes from DFW International Airport that includes shopping, dining, and entertainment, as well as office space, urban living units, and recreation areas.
Currently, Dallas-based NewcrestImage has a portfolio of 32 distinctive owned and operated hotels in 10 states, with another 18 hotels under construction or in development in cities coast to coast. The company has three divisions: real estate development; construction; and hotel management.
