TEMPE, AZ (October 7, 2022) – Omni Hotels & Resorts announces the appointment of Todd Gagnon as general manager and Matt Drusch as director of sales and marketing at Omni Tempe Hotel at Arizona State University (ASU). The new hotel is set for a Spring 2023 opening in Tempe’s revitalized downtown district.

Both Todd and Matt will assist in bringing an entirely new hospitality and meeting experience to the city that will further Tempe’s positioning as a sought-after destination.”
With nearly 10 years of experience at Omni Hotels & Resorts, Todd Gagnon is a seasoned hotel professional and long-standing, passionate leader for the Omni brand. First joining Omni Hotels & Resorts in 2013 as director of operations at Omni Providence Hotel, Todd was quickly promoted to general manager at Omni Houston Hotel Westside. In 2018, he was promoted to general manager of the historic Omni Severin Hotel in Indianapolis, IN. Todd now joins Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU, with integral leadership experience, and a vast knowledge of the company’s culture, business acumen, and a firm understanding of this hotel’s significance within the brand.
Todd earned his bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He later completed the advanced general manager program at Cornell University.
A seasoned professional in the hospitality industry, Matt Drusch brings 15 years of management experience to his new role as director of sales and marketing. Prior to joining Omni Hotels & Resorts, Matt built a dynamic career at both branded and independent hotels through his work as director of sales & marketing throughout the Midwest. In 2016, Matt was appointed to director of sales & marketing at Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West where he developed a strong sales staff and implemented strategic sales plans for the property. Most recently, Matt brought his talents to Omni Oklahoma City Hotel, where he served as director of sales to support the pre-opening team.
Matt studied accounting and business management from Carroll University in Waukesha, WI, and later earned his associate’s degree in business marketing from Waukesha County Technical College. Additionally, Matt is a Certified Hospitality Sales Professional (CHSP) under the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is a $125 million investment and part of a public-private partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) and the City of Tempe. Omni has developed the hotel in collaboration with a team of seasoned hospitality professionals, including architects from C+TC Design Studio, Inc., general contractors at Brasfield & Gorrie and interior designers at Monogram at BBGM. The hotel will feature 330 guest rooms, including 11 suites, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail vendors, and almost 36,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting spaces with expansive views of the ASU campus and the Tempe cityscape.
