Outrigger Hospitality Group has announced the appointment of Steve Solberg as General Manager at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa – the nine-hectare (22-acre) oceanfront property on Hawaii Island. The resort is scheduled to re-open under the Outrigger brand in late August.
Seasoned hospitality executive Solberg will be responsible for all aspects of resort operations for this culturally rich property, with an eye to service culture, maximized operations, host and guest satisfaction, and the bottom line.
He was GM at Outrigger Guam Beach Resort for nearly six years and has held senior positions with Marriott, The Kimpton Hotel Group and Promus Hotels. Mr Solberg holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in Michigan, USA.
