CHICAGO (June 1, 2016) – Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Chicago today announced Robert “Bob” Shelley has been appointed general manager, effective immediately. In this role, Shelley will oversee the hotel’s operations and strategy. With over 25 years of experience in hotels, Shelley brings a keen eye and strong knowledge of the hospitality industry.

Shelley most recently was area managing director for Commune Hotels + Resorts where he oversaw seven lifestyle hotels and resorts in the United States and Mexico for their JDV and Thompson brands. In this role he implemented regional strategies for meeting goals in the areas of revenue generation, market share performance, guest satisfaction, and associate engagement. Shelley worked with the corporate office and management teams to identify and solve problems ensuring each property performed at maximum potential.
Shelley’s vast experience also includes general manager, Dream Inn, Santa Cruz, California; general manager, Hotel Lincoln, Chicago, Illinois; The Henry, Autograph Collection, Dearborn, Michigan; regional director of operations, Grand Heritage Hotel Group, Annapolis, Maryland; and Omni Severin Hotel, Indianapolis, Indiana.
