The hospitality veteran takes the reins at the 1,080-room property as it transitions into a fully operational hotel in its second year
SINGAPORE – 22 November, 2023 – Hilton, the global leader in hospitality, has announced the appointment of industry veteran Rupert Hallam as General Manager for Hilton Singapore Orchard, Hilton’s largest hotel in Asia Pacific.
As Singapore anticipates a full recovery of tourism numbers in 2024, Hallam’s appointment is perfectly timed especially as Hilton Singapore Orchard approaches its second year as a fully operational hotel. The British hospitality expert brings over three decades of hospitality experience, of which 21 significant years were spent with Hilton. Prior to his current role, Hallam served as the General Manager of Hilton Adelaide for close to five years, and earlier as the Vice President of Sales for Hilton Asia Pacific from 2015 to 2019 when he was based in Singapore.
Succeeding his predecessor Cedric Nubul, who steered the opening of the hotel for two years since its pre-opening, Hallam will lead a team of over 490 team members toward continued growth. His unwavering dedication to the hospitality and tourism sector underscores his commitment to excellence, fostering positive change, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
“Having experienced working in Singapore during my time with Hilton, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to not only return to a city that I see as a gateway to the world, but to also have the privilege of leading this brand-defining property for Hilton. I’ve had many fond memories in my time here, and I look forward to creating even more great ones as I work closely with the exceptional teams who have been instrumental in the success of this hotel since its opening,” said Hallam. “We are entering a new chapter in the tourism industry at this exciting and crucial time, and I believe we’re only getting started with exemplifying the best of the Hilton brand at Hilton Singapore Orchard.”
As General Manager, Hallam will oversee day-to-day operations of the hotel’s 1,080 rooms and suites, five world-class culinary concepts, and its extensive MICE and wedding offerings spanning over 2,400 sqm of meeting spaces with the support of Hotel Manager Linda Reddy. Hallam will also continue to strengthen the hotel’s existing programmes, raising its profile in the region as a brand-defining and inspirational landmark hotel for Hilton in Singapore and the region.
