Jakarta, February 2014 – The Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta set a new technology precedent this week when it became the first hotel in Jakarta to harness the power of HotSOS via H2GO on iPod Touch devices.
A mobile version of popular HotSOS solution by Newmarket, H2GO provides hotel staff with the ability to respond, create, and maintain work orders efficiently and accurately, all via iPod Touch technology.
Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta contracted McLaren Technologies, Asia Pacific’s leading hospitality technology and communications specialist, to implement and deploy H2GO and the new iPod Touch devices.
McLaren Technologies Managing Director said that by introducing the iPod Touch, the hotel was now leading the tech charge on Jakarta’s hospitality scene, offering increased service and operational efficiency for both corporate and leisure guests travelling to the city.
“There is no doubt that the iPod Touch has enhanced high-quality communications throughout the Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta,” said Mr White. “The iPod Touch devices we’ve deployed now allow the hotel’s back of house to communicate more quickly and quietly than ever before to serve guests needs without taking phone calls, writing it down and then possibly losing that piece of paper.”
H2GO notifies staff of awaiting service orders and allows them to view detailed information and manage pending work better. H2GO also gives the ability to generate service orders and perform guestroom or public space inspections (requires QIC- Quality Inspection Console).
As part of the upgrade, McLaren also added REX- Room Expeditor to the iPod Touch functionality for the Sari Pan Pacific hotel, a solution designed for housekeeping guestroom attendants. With REX, a room attendant refers to their wireless device to be instructed on what is the next most important room to clean (based on reservation, VIP status, or room type priority points). The room attendant is then exposed to real-time guest information that allows for addressing the guest by name and focusing on any provided guestroom preferences.
Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta’s General Manager Thomas Mayrhofer said the fact that the new technology has a short learning curve for staff was another appealing feature of the iPod Touch.
“A priority for the hotel during this technology and service upgrade was to ensure a consistent and quality experience for our guests at all times,” he said. “Therefore H2GO for iPod Touch was a really attractive choice from a management perspective, not least of all because it delivers instant results without steep training requirements.”
“The beauty of the iPod Touch is that many team members at the hotel already use these smart devices in their everyday life and are familiar with them. They are just so easy to use and navigate.”
“This equated to greater efficiency without the usual disruption you might expect from a pilot or implementation period for new technology.”
