CHICAGO (Jan. 2, 2024)—Somnium Hospitality Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Raina Spasov as the new General Manager at the Hilton Chicago Oak Brook Hills Resort. In her new role, Raina will oversee all aspects of the Resort’s operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience.
With over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Raina brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her position, specifically to the Oak Brook Hills Resort where she began working in 2013 as an Executive Assistant to the General Manager. Over the next 10 years, she served as the Operations Manager, Director of Rooms, Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing and finally Resort Manager before being named the new General Manager in January 2024.
Spasov’s leadership and management skills make her the ideal candidate for this role, said Steven Ellingsen, President of Somnium Hospitality Group, which took over management of the Hilton Chicago Oak Brooks Hills Resort in late 2023. “She is dedicated to creating a positive work environment for the resort’s staff, fostering teamwork and collaboration,” Ellingsen said. “Raina’s commitment to excellence will further enhance the Resort’s reputation as a premier destination for leisure and business travelers.”
Spasov, who first came to the United States in 2005 as an exchange student from her native Bulgaria, said she is thrilled to continue her tenure at Oak Brook in a new capacity. “I look forward to working with the talented team here to continue providing exceptional experiences for our guests,” she said. “The opportunities I’ve been given to be exposed to many areas of the Resort, and being able to work in operations for the majority of the time, have made me fall in love with hospitality. I’m so proud to work alongside such a passionate group of people.”
