Orlando, F.L. (August 11, 2015) – With shared lobby space and recreational facilities, the Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott will offer visitors to Lake Nona the best of both worlds when they open in late fall 2015, bringing the first onsite hotels to the region’s fastest-growing master-planned community and Medical City.
Tavistock Development, owner and developer of the dual branded hotel in Lake Nona, is pleased to announce its partnership with Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company to manage daily operations for the 204-room property, which will be divided equally with 102 rooms in each hotel.
Widely recognized as a top management company in the industry, Concord Hospitality is a ten-time winner of Marriott’s Partnership Circle award, the highest honor Marriott presents to its owner and franchise partners for hospitality excellence. Concord Hospitality currently operates 12 Residence Inns and 26 Courtyard properties, with three more in development in addition to the Lake Nona project.
“As a proven industry leader with high standards of excellence and integrity, our partnership with Concord is a seamless fit to realize the project’s vision,” said Tavistock Development President Jim Zboril.
The Marriott hotels are part of Tavistock’s first phase of the Lake Nona Town Center along Lake Nona Boulevard just south of SR 417 in the heart of Lake Nona Medical City. In addition to the hotels, the first phase of development opening this fall includes 17,000 square feet of business and restaurant space, an 80,000 square-foot multi-tenant office building and five-story parking garage. Once complete, the open-air shopping center will feature more than one million square feet of office and retail from high-end shops and department stores to restaurants and a variety of entertainment options.
“From the VA Medical Center to Nemours Children’s Hospital, Lake Nona attracts a mix of overnight and extended stay visitors, making the community an ideal location for this dual-branded Marriott concept,” said Mark Laport, President and CEO of Concord Hospitality. “We are excited to team with Tavistock to help ensure these hotels represent the highest in quality accommodations in the Orlando market, and we will strive to quickly establish ourselves as the go-to hospitality provider for guests of the Lake Nona community and beyond.”
Tavistock Development properties include a diverse mix of land, office and retail, industrial, apartment, hospitality and master-designed communities in Central Florida. In addition to the Lake Nona Town Center, TDC is overseeing the development of the 63-acre, 102-court United States Tennis Association National Campus and various Lake Nona office and retail centers, including Vickrey Place adjacent to Valencia College and Lake Nona High School along Narcoossee Road. Recently completed is the Lake Nona Gateway Building, a 75,000 square-foot medical office building on the northwest corner of Narcoossee Road and Tavistock Lakes Boulevard.
