West Orange, NJ, November 2017 … Teneo Hospitality Group brought its innovative networking and charity program to New Jersey recently with an interactive event at the spectacular Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange. The gathering, to benefit HomeFront, was attended by meeting planners from the Northeast and representatives of Teneo-member hotels and destinations from the US and internationally. Teneo’s networking programs, held across the United States, provide members with a unique opportunity to showcase their products and services, while aiding a local charity. Benefiting from this event was HomeFront, an organization that works to break the cycle of poverty and end homelessness in New Jersey.
Teneo developed the innovative community outreach program as a key part of its business model. At the New Jersey event, meeting planners were given Teneo tote bags to fill. Then, they visited each of the tables where they connected with a hotelier or a destination management company who added an item to each bag. Each tote bag contained items that could be useful to the homeless, including socks, eye drops, hand cream, feminine products, toothbrushes, dental floss, umbrellas, blankets, Band-Aids, snacks and a number of other necessity items. More than 7,500 items were donated to HomeFront, and $2,500 was also donated to the Red Cross for hurricane victim relief.
Participating in the Teneo networking event are (L to R) David D’Eletto, Managing Partner, Meeting Alliance; Rebecca Podberesky, Project Manager, Madison Performance Group; and Joe Nahas, Vice President of Sales, Teneo Hospitality Group.
