Arizona's First Autograph Collection Hotel Welcomes Doug McCorkle and Darren Pound
PHOENIX (December 7, 2015) – The Camby Hotel, Phoenix’s most anticipated independent luxury property set to open in December 2015, is proud to announce the addition of Doug McCorkle as chief ideation officer and Darren Pound as chief experience officer to its growing executive team. McCorkle and Pound bring more than 50 years of combined experience in luxury hospitality to Arizona’s first Autograph Collection Hotel, Marriott International’s curated portfolio of hotels recognized for celebrating individuality. The hotel is owned by Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc.

In the role of Chief Ideation Officer, McCorkle is leading the hotel’s sales and marketing efforts in addition to working with the external marketing teams on advertising and public relations efforts. McCorkle’s career in the hospitality industry started over 25 years ago when he was a marketing manager at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo. Prior to joining The Camby Hotel, McCorkle was the executive director of brand strategy and executive director of marketing at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. He also has held a variety of key management positions at Hilton Hotels and Marriott International.
As Chief Experience Officer, Pound will oversee day-‐to-‐day operations of The Camby Hotel with a bold and progressive mindset while retaining an eye for the fine details that elevate a hotel from upscale to luxurious. Pound will direct the planning and organizing of accommodations, while expertly balancing a range of guest priorities. Darren brings almost 27 years of luxury hotel experience and management to The Camby Hotel. Prior to beginning his tenure in Phoenix, Pound was the hotel manager for Loews Hotels & Resorts in Coronado Bay, Calif. Pound also served as corporate director of food and beverage for J.C. Resorts, which includes flagship restaurants at California properties like Rancho Bernardo Inn, Surf and Sand Laguna Beach, and Temecula Creek Inn.
