Miami, FL (December 5, 2017) – The Greater Miami & the Beaches Hotel Association (GMBHA), a membership organization comprised of hoteliers and allied members across Miami-Dade County, presented its "Hospitality Leadership Awards" on November 20th, honoring 160 outstanding managers of the various hotel departments. With over 400 guests in attendance, GMBHA’s President & CEO Wendy Kallergis and Past Chair Raj Singh presented the awards at the seventh annual program held at the Mandarin Oriental, Miami.
The GMBHA’s Hospitality Leadership Awards were selected from more than 160 nominations from over 40 hotels and were evaluated by a panel of external judges related to the hospitality industry. This year’s “Manager of the Year” Awards went to Teodora Reytor, Housekeeping Manager, EAST, Miami and James Anderson, Director of Sales & Marketing, Dream South Beach. In addition, thirty winners from other hotel management positions including Assistant General Manager, Catering, Culinary, Engineering, Finance, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Executive Steward, Human Resources, Recreation, Front Office, Sales & Marketing and Security were also recognized. “This is the GMBHA’s seventh year recognizing exceptional leaders from Miami-Dade County’s hospitality industry,” said Wendy Kallergis, GMBHA’s President & CEO. “These dedicated managers not only contribute to the overall success of our thriving tourism market but also serve as role models to their entire hotel team.” Kallergis also announced that the GMBHA will be hosting a new event “GMBHA’s 1st Annual Restaurant Awards’ event” that will launch in 2018.
